User Support - Law Firm

Key Responsibilities: * Act as the interface and liaison between Palo Alto and New York for telecommunications, IT services and overall IT support.

* Set up, maintain and manage conference room technology/equipment for scheduled meetings, including audio conferencing, video conferencing, PC/laptop setup, PowerPoint presentations, webinars, and other related technologies.

* Work with New York and Palo Alto office management on the planning, scheduling and implementation of various projects, from inception to roll out (i.e., roll out of new software or hardware). Provide project reports and timescales.

* Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies. Provide first point of contact for technical support to all Palo Alto users relating to IT and telecommunications.

* Analyze and evaluate incident reports and make recommendations to reduce help line incident rate.

* Log and track calls using problem management database, and maintain history records and related problem documentation.

* Train users on software and hardware on-site or in classroom, or recommend outside contractors to provide training.

* Install PCs, printers, other miscellaneous peripherals and software, under the guidance of New York. Provide ongoing support to such installations.

* Provision Blackberry PDA devices, and provide training and support as needed.

* Assist users with the set up and use of the Firm's remote access systems, and provide training as needed.

* Administer and maintain the Palo Alto telephone and voicemail system.

* Monitor Local Area and Wide Area Networks and their related components (e.g., routers, hubs, switches), and report issues through to New York.

* Manage external vendors and consultants

* Purchase IT equipment (as required and in conjunction with New York) and maintain inventory in the Palo Alto Office.

* Maintain an on-site inventory of required equipment such as loaner laptops, Blackberries, spare PCs, printers, etc.

* Oversee and manage trial-site setups, which may include the configuration of a temporary network, PCs, printers, laptops and other peripherals.

* Attend bi-weekly IT conference calls with New York.

* Attend training as required.

* Perform other relevant/related tasks and duties as may be reasonably required by NY IT or Palo Alto Office management.

* Be on call outside of regular hours as required by Palo Alto or New York.

Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is desired.
* Candidate must possess at least two years of general audio visual and IT support experience.
* Candidate must possess excellent organization and communication skills.
