Job Title: VB.NET Web Services and J2SE Web Applications Developer /Administrator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Application Development, Design, Testing, Deployment, Documentation, Maintenance, Optimization. Consults with business analysts, management and other developers to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine extent of programming and coding required.Managing expectations of sponsors.  This includes managing expectations, formally and informally communicating important details, and ultimately gaining the trust and respect of the project sponsor.Design, code and test software applications.  Design components utilizing pre-built librariesCreate Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) and testers for new components Modify, enhance and re-engineer existing application code.  Revises and maintains existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to newer requirementsCoordinate delivery timelines to meet project deployment schedules Document code processes, procedures and revisions management functions Provide training for other team members in operations problem resolution.Keeping up with emerging technologies and advanced technical topics (such as patterns and practices).

 Technical Requirements/Experience:Must have knowledge of a variety of windows and web development concepts, practices and procedures (i.e. ASP/ASP.Net, SQL Server, VB.NET, XML, HTML, CGI, Jscript/VBScript, COM, VB).Excellent service to all customers and teams for both new site builds and existing site support, work in a productive and informative manner with Applications Support, Network Support and Operations, Monitoring, site and regional administrators/managers. Produce useful documentation to aid in resolving repetitive problems or issues; proactively communicate status of issue resolution. Must have experience with Access, Visual Basic, VBA, .NET, Visio,2-5+ years of Java development experience, either on the client or server-side, such as J2SE or J2EE Experience with Web Services and Services Oriented Architectures (SOA) technologiesExperience with XML, SOAP, and HTTP.  Preference for experience with Apache on I-Series (AS/400) connectivity.Experience with I-Series RPG/ILE programming and communications.
