VMS UNIX Support Administrator

Achillean Solutions a leading provider of premier talent is currently assisting a client in the need for a VMSUNIX Technical Support Analyst.  Responsibilities include providing first and second level technical support for the VMS Systems and technical support to our client community, incident management, escalation and incident documentation, writing and updating of standards and operating procedures, assisting the programming staff, quality assurance group and development group, successful completion of shift processing requirements, the execution of daily batch jobs, and performing backups / restores as needed, and the preparation of various management reports.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS DESIRED (MUST BE JOB RELATED):

A Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experiences in a VMS Data Center, minimum of 8 years experience, some  management experience with demonstrated leadership and accomplishments is a plus.  Candidate should have working knowledge of VMS and UNIX (AIX/Solaris), and AS400 experience helpful.  Programming capabilities in VMS/DCL, UNIX utilities and commands, and a familiarity with VMS backup or other 3rd party vendor backup software (Legato).  Candidate should be self-motivated with good written and oral communications and must be willing to work a flexible time schedule. Must be willing to work second shift.
