JOB TITLE: Software & Validation Testing /Quality Assurance

JOB DESCRIPTION:Candidate possesses extensive experience with Microsoft Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP and working knowledge of Linux. Loads/unloads device drivers, applications, and OS. BIOS update/recovery. Builds systems from component pieces. Experience with PC HW/peripherals. Debugging skills are essential. Test plan, test case writing skills. Result oriented. QA process knowledge. Defect reporting tools like PVCS Tracker. Optional Skills may include SW development and validation process. WHQL knowledge is a plus. Writing and owning SW quality plans, defining process, release criteria and metrics. Owning defect management plan/tracking database. Set up computer systems, assist in identifying root cause of failure of components, peripherals, drivers, video, Audio etc.

Additional Skills: Is expected to maintain accurate inputs into data management systems with high quality and minimal errors. Education required: Associates Degree - Electronics Technology + Computer Science.

CUSTOMER JOB DESC: Required technical skills include demonstrated experience in reliable test execution and test results reporting, multi-tasking on multiple experiments, on new hw+sw platforms. Working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and defect tracking tools is required. Experience with disk and system benchmarks (both desktop and mobile) is a strong plus, as is some driver debug experience. Knowledge of storage concepts is preferred. Knowledge of disk-ghosting tools is preferred. Knowledge of any scripting language is a big plus.
