Position Title: VP, Data Center Operations

Salary:  to $140,000 plus bonuses and stock options

Location:  Albany, New York  (relation assistance available)

Full relocation assistance is available.

 

Opportunity for VP/Director of Data Center Operations for major  24X7  global data center in up-state New York.   This management position offers excellent continued growth for seasoned datacenter director experienced with management of both IBM mainframes (5000+MIPs) and global distributed systems.

 

Excellent presentation skills and ability to represent the all Data Center issues to senior executive management is critical. Will provide strategic analysis, vision and planning to drive continued growth and quality expansion for this multiplatform data center.  Must bring technical knowledge of Operations support for large-scale IBM mainframe systems and distributed networks and be capable of aligning Operations with strategic technology directions. 

 

Ideal candidate will have specific interest in relocation to northeast due to family connections, etc. (full relocation available).



Required Skills: 

● Experience managing 24X7, multi-platform data center with high volume transactions including IBM mainframe (5000 MIPS), global network and large scale distributed systems is mandatory.

● Ability and enthusiasm to bring vision and creative approach for fast-paced global data center.  Must have excellent inter-personal abilities and superior communications skills..

● Excellent personal presentation skills and ability to represent the all data center issues to senior executive management is critical. 

● Management of staff (min 30-40 people)and over-sight of data center Operation functions such as delegating staff for quality compliance on all daily service levels, event monitoring and solutions, disaster recovery planning, vendor management and quality internal customer relations

● Familiarity with essential mainframe and network monitoring and ?smart tools? such as CA7, Candle, Tivoli, Micromuse and EMC.

● Experience with data centers of large insurance companies, banks, investments companies or other global data services organizations is a plus.

● Experience in managing budgets of over $5mil+

● BS, Business, Computer Science or similar field.

● Candidates relocating should have strong interest in living in the north east or upstate NY area.
