The position is located in Hudson, OH

 

The purpose of the department is to provide operational support surrounding the Windows based platforms within the Hudson Data Center. This support includes incident management and some execution of change management. Candidate must be willing to work any shift.

 

The scope of this job is to operationally manage all Windows based production, development, and test environments. Candidate must be self motivated and highly communicative to be able to function within a Virtual environment working with peers from the other Data Center Operations located in Northbrook and Dallas and engineering teams who support the Wintel environment. A clear understanding of Operating system and hardware repair on Windows servers along with being flexible as to supporting our 24 x 7 x 365 environment. This individual must be proficient in reviewing, creating, and managing team documentation to ensure high levels of service are provided. Candidates for this position must be innovative and should be able to create, implement or recommend process refinement opportunities. The ability to follow instructions both written and verbal is paramount as well as the ability to multi-task.

 

The individual will be responsible for

 

1. Supporting the Wintel Systems objectives which include the daily execution of server repair and some change management. Hours can also include weekends, and holidays as required. 

2. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows platform related problems pertaining to both hardware and software needs as required.

 

The skills required are:

 

1. Intermediate - Moderate to advanced understanding of the Windows operating system 

2. Intermediate - Moderate to advanced understanding of the Change, Incident, and Problem management reporting tools and procedures.

3. Beginner - Basic knowledge of backup solutions

4. Beginner - Basic understanding of server acceptance process 

5. Beginner - Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products

 

Experience Required:

Understanding of HP SIM (Systems Insight Manager) Understanding of DNS Document Naming System Server + HP Proliant Server Certification Familiarity with Citrix and Veritas Netbackup) Microsoft Certification

 

Computer Proficiency:

One or more years experience working with Windows operating systems and support of their hardware/software. Included in this experience would be a history of previous exposure to off-hour support, the ability to work multiple projects concurrently and the confidence to prioritize workloads based on criticality with little or no management direction necessary.

 

Education:

College Degree - Preferred

Major preference: Managing Information Systems or Computer Science
