POSITION SUMMARY

RIM?s BlackBerry Solutions Group is a group of highly talented architectural consultants. The team?s mandate is to help our largest and most important customers solve business problems by implementing the latest in wireless technologies. Leading customers through their business requirements while translating them into specific system, application or process implementations will be second nature to the successful candidate. The Wireless Solutions Architect will have consultative, deep technical discussion with customers on the capabilities, requirements, configuration and usages of RIM?s wireless technology portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for technically managing the largest, most technically complex customer relationships. While maintaining these high value relationships, customers must be availed not only of RIM?s product and technology directions but also of industry trends in general. Additionally, as a recognized subject matter expert, the candidate will be engaged by other members of the team to impart expertise across a broad range of customers and situations.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Technical aptitude and business acumen with a consultative approach to find creative solutions to real customer problems
Familiarity with all stages of the solution implementation lifecycle
Strong technical leadership capabilities coupled with real world project management experience
7+ years experience as a technology consultant
5+ years experience with any of the following E-mail systems: Exchange, Domino, GroupWise
5+ years experience in Large Enterprise IT Organizations
Very strong communication skills (Oral, Verbal and Written)
Exceptional presentation skills and the ability to handle large audiences are a must
Applicable industry certifications (MCSE, CLP, MCNE, etc.) an asset but experience given definite priority
Ability to lead ad hoc teams of very bright and highly motivated individuals
Ability to scope and size work efforts effectively
Strong organization and time management skills
Proven customer management skills
