We are looking for a Workstation Engineering Manager to successfully execute projects and initiatives, as well as software deployments, patches, enhancements, production issues, thin client applications and reporting. This manager will oversee nine Level 3 Engineers who provide escalated enterprise wide technical support, including troubleshooting, delivery of fixes, software maintenance enhancements and existing software to desktops and servers.
Participates in budgeting and capital equipment processes and quality improvement activities for the organization. Meets scheduled milestones to ensure project/program objectives are met in a timely manner and has an in-depth knowledge of the principles, theories, practices and techniques for managing the activities related to planning, managing and implementing projects and programs.
Experience managing resources and personnel who support application deployments tools, Scripting, Citrix / terminal server thin clients, and security and encryption protocols from server to clients. Web interfaces and reporting applications. Antivirus reporting, monitoring and eradications procedures. Manages work requirements, scheduling of resources and priorities of individuals in the team for scheduled operations and unplanned incidents. Manages operational, technical and customer service problems. Previous technical management experience in the Information Technology field. Good working knowledge of IT infrastructure.
Project Management and Supervision:
Manage own functional area and successfully execute projects/initiatives that fall under that area. Contribute to IT project planning for one or more business areas; review progress toward plan regularly with clients and make modifications, as necessary; provide quantitative cost/benefit analyses.
Set direction for and assign responsibilities to technical and non-technical individuals on projects or cross-functional team. Proactively partner with technical advisors and consultants during execution of plan. Financial Analysis, budgeting and reporting.
Leadership and Team Development:
Set team goals and objectives based on business knowledge and customer requirements; ensure achievement of those objectives; discuss and support career goals of work group(s); deliver all phases of performance management program. Actively participate in recruitment and selection processes.
Experience with Citrix and Marimba desired.
Bachelor's degreee in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required, one additional year of experience is required for each year of college not attained.
8-10 years of demonstrated excellence in application development (SDLC) and/or technical operations environment. Experience managing multiple small to medium projects or major components of a large one. Thorough knowledge in own technological discipline 2-4+ years experience leading project teams effectively, meeting deliverable dates, leading a work group(s) and direct customer contact. Thorough understanding of platforms/applications or software product used by Caremark, with advanced knowledge of at least one or more product. Experience managing customer requirements or demands.
