 AS/400 Administrator Skills:  The associate is responsible for the following attributes and technical skills for client's AS/400 infrastructure: engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support. This job description outlines your specific area of focus. You may be asked to assume additional technical areas of responsibility in one or more Systems Engineering disciplines such as UNIX, Windows, Middleware, Database Administration, Storage, Reporting, and Testing.

Minimum of 1-2 years AS/400 structured programming experience preferably in ILE RPG.

Designing, implementing and administering the server infrastructure hardware, software and configuration.

Planning and scheduling of outages required for upgrades and maintenance.

Supporting and maintaining versions and patch levels of the server hardware, operating systems, 3rd party products and in house utilities.

Supporting and maintaining communications configurations and interoperability components.

Monitoring the daily performance and utilization of the server infrastructure and manage them to achieve service level goals.

Performing capacity planning, forecasting, and sizing and make recommendations as required.

Participating in benchmark performance analysis and reporting.

Developing software (RPG Programming) as needed to support and monitor the environment.

Performing Root Cause Analysis on failing infrastructure components and implement corrective measures.

Working with Production Operations, the development community, and others to establish and improve processes and procedures related to the server infrastructure.

Providing technical leadership during disaster recovery exercises.
