iSeries Administrator

As a key member of our Computer Operations Team, the iSeries Administrator will be responsible for:

 

?  Monitoring day to day iSeries activities in both interactive and batch processing environment

?  Monitor CPU and DASD utilization, communications, hardware and printer output queues

?  Complete daily operations checklist and report exceptions to iSeries management

?  Manage user profiles and assist users with security and application access issues

?  Assist with support for all development/production systems, troubleshoot and escalate problems 

?  Participate in Disaster Recovery tests as needed; Perform system commands and operational procedures

?  Provide on site support for hardware upgrades or software maintenance

?  Maintain PTF implementation cycle and documentation

?  Assist with the update and administration of departmental documentation to assure compliance with audit requirements

?  Batch processing of production jobs, system backups, and troubleshooting; Monitoring system console for messages and ensure successful completion of scheduled tasks

?  Timely and efficient processing and follow-up of the printing, quality control and the distribution of output

?  Using and/or requesting output from printers, disk drives and tape drives 

?  Ensuring and adequate supply of forms and storage media are available for use 

?  Assist with the physical security of the computer systems and the computer room

?  Answer telephone calls to assist computer users encountering problems and process help-desk tickets

?  Ensures strict adherence to all Information Services policies and procedures 

?  Has the ability to spot problems as they occur and ensure proper steps are taken to resolve those problems 

?  Must be able to communicate and interface effectively with end-users, executive management and outside suppliers
