Major Morris County Client has a full-time opportunity for an iSeries Engineer. Responsibilities are as follows:

iSeries Performance Management:

* Analyze and provide proactive recommendations on iSeries system performance and application performance.

* Must have thorough understanding of iSeries Performance tools & utilities (PT1, iDoctor).

iSeries Automation and Console Consolidation:

* Design and code CL programs, and create screen interfaces in a high level language such as Cobol, RPG Java.

* Implement automated reporting and implement simple interfaces for finding historical performance information.

* Leadership role requiring excellent written and oral communication organizational, time management, project management, and service delivery skills.

Production Server and Application Support:

* Demonstrate knowledge of iSeries (i5) hardware and experience with use of HMC for LPAR configurations.

* Using technical expertise facilitate the identification and implementation of process improvements, system design, testing and implementation of large and/or complex technical projects, often requiring coordination of multiple functional areas.

* Identify, evaluate, and implement operational changes to improve operational effectiveness.

* Review enhancements and projects after implementation for performance and system resource utilization.

Implementation of New Systems:

* Design hardware and environmental requirements, interface with vendors and manage the installation processes.

* Maintain expert level of business functional knowledge and current automated technologies.

* Evaluate new products or systems for applicability to systems or Business Units.

* Communicate new technologies to technical staff when applicable.

* Ability to learn and respond to demands in a fast-paced, highly technical environment and to manage multiple projects and responsibilities.

* Work effectively with both on-shore & off-shore resources independently and in a team when required.

* Willingness to provide support 24x7
