16547 Packaging Tech III

Job Description: Duties and Responsibilities Support Packaging Engineering development for new technology and product development projects.

Assist in generation of packaging-related documentation including specifications, test plans and reports, and other BSC Product Development Process documents.

Conduct and coordinate packaging testing for new product development and existing design improvements, including unit builds, distribution, shelf-life, performance testing, and inspection.

Work closely with other members of the Packaging Engineering department, and interact with personnel from a variety of areas within the company.

Work with BSC suppliers to maximize quality, delivery, and lead times, and incorporate their abilities, ideas, and material knowledge into new development.

Education

Two-year technical degree (AA, AS, or Certificate).

Requirements

3 - 5 years experience in packaging discipline, preferably in a medical device or pharmaceutical setting.

Knowledge related to paperboard, corrugated, flexible packaging films, Tyvek, thermoformed trays, injection molded parts, and packaging equipment.

Familiarity with ASTM / ISTA package testing requirements.

Familiarity with the medical device industry, FDA regulations, quality systems, and sterilization preferred.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively manage priorities.

Experience working in a team environment.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Attention to detail.

Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with product data management software preferred.
