AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC TECHNICIAN

Established automotive business in Poplarville area has long term employment position available in automotive service work. The Automotive Mechanic will need to be self-morivated, dependable, and willing to learn new skills.

This is a non-smoking environment.

Candidates must have knowledge of safety rules and practices as applied to automotive repair shops and principles and functions of automotive equipment. Good mechanical aptitude including but not limited to changing tires, service work, and tire alignments; ability to use mechanic's hand tools; follow written and oral instructions and establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with other employees.

Candidate must be willing to obtain basic commercial driver's license.

High School diploma is preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to this position.

Candidate must be employed or have been recently employed.

Candidate must also satisfy criminal background check, credit check, drug screen, and MDOT background check.

Candidates must be able to work in a typical shop or related maintenance setting, including operating typical trade test equipment, hand and power tools; stamina to stand, walk and climb and to work in confined or awkward spaces for an extended period of time; strength to lift and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds.

Ownership of mechanical tools, operating experience with larger vehicles including wrecker and forklift, and knowledge of exhaust work, pipe bending, and welding is desired, but not required.
