AV/ VTC Technician

SPL Integrated Solutions an Audiovisual (AV) systems integration and service company seeks an AV and videoconferencing (VC) support technician with experience levels in meeting coordination, execution for executive, educational, and routine meetings in a fast-paced customer service focused environment in the Reston, VA vicinity.  Strong understanding of technology, business, office procedures, and high-end customer service skills a must.  Duties will include setting up, testing, operation, teardown, and troubleshooting of AV and VC equipment. Individual must be able to adhere to procedures and work independently.  Two to three years of AV and presentation technologies and customer service experience required.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

?  Setup, testing, operation, and tear down of audiovisual (AV) and videoconference equipment; (e.g., video data projection systems, computers, audio- and videoconference equipment, microphones, video cameras, audio systems, and operation of integrated AV systems) in compliance with the set of prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

?  Proactively certify videoconferencing systems

?  Maintain database of certifications including call quality levels searchable by room, city, vendor, address

?  Comply with certification/scheduling check list for each meeting reservation to ensure requirements are met

?  Coordinate with external VC sites, schedule the external and internal VC rooms, and follow up with confirmation

?  Maintain VC incident log

?  Record meetings according to standard operating procedures

?  Provide best effort assistance to fulfill any multimedia technical needs as assigned.

?  Execute all aspects of videoconferences including call set up, end user training, troubleshooting, and follow through on escalation of trouble issues.

?  Provide consultation and education to all levels of end users on presentation technology equipment.

?  Troubleshoot AV and videoconferencing related technology (various projectors, control systems, audio- and videoconferencing).

?  Maintain conference room integrity in compliance with SOPs;

- Perform regular preventive maintenance checks (e.g., either report or address troubles such as cable management issues, safety standards noncompliance, etc.).

- Escalate housekeeping and technical issues outside of AV and conferencing technology and applications to appropriate department. 

?  Maintain understanding of current and new technology.

Requirements/Qualifications

?  Thorough working knowledge of the operation and troubleshooting of AV and videoconferencing related technology

?  Strong project management, customer service and communications skills

?  Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

?  Leadership qualities and ability to build a team

?  Experience working in a fast paced corporate environment

?  3-5 Years AV and presentation technologies experience

?  2-3 Years support team, project management, and customer service experience

?  BA or BS degree required

?  Additional customer service and management training preferred
