Automation Engineer / Technician

Hoffer Plastics is a custom plastic mold injection company with over 50 years in various markets including packaging, automotive, consumer goods, and industrial applications. 

 

We are currently seeking an automation engineer to join our team who will be responsible for the design, build, troubleshoot and repair of high speed assembly equipment. 

 

Qualifications:

? 5 years automation experience with high speed assembly equipment

? Mechanical comprehension as well as strong understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical applications and blueprints

? Programming knowledge of PLC systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.

? Robotic experience as well as vision detection systems

? Use of Computer Aided Design Software and strong general computer skills

 

Other Responsibilities:

? Responsible for assigned duties involving the analysis of customer prints and machine quotation requests, the preparation of project quotations and procurement of automated machines and equipment.

? Review project quotation proposals with the Sales Department to be certain of full understanding of the project.

? Check and review proposed auxiliary equipment design with sales, customer, manufacturing, and engineering representative to assure that agreement is      obtained prior to construction.

? Place purchase order, expedite, and follow up with appropriate visits to machinery sources, and become completely familiar with progress and     compliance to agreed design.

? Follow up sampling of the automated machinery and prepare necessary records to enable full discussion and decision as to sample results with Tool Room, manufacturing, and engineering representatives.

? Advise sales and quality control as to customer approval, or necessity for deviation.  Follow up promptly to minimize delays to assure compliance with quoted machinery and/or equipment delivery times.
