Building & Equipment Maintenance Specialist II
The City of Gaithersburg is accepting applications for the position of Building & Equipment Maintenance Specialist II, to operate and maintain a variety of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, some of which is highly sophisticated and complex in nature, and to perform limited work on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing equipment.
Responsibilities include monitoring equipment and making adjustments and minor repairs; calibrating and maintaining control systems; performing efficiency and preventive maintenance tests; monitoring the progress of work performed by contractors; managing HVAC replacement projects for major equipment replacement and system upgrades; and supporting emergency snow removal operations.
Requires completion of building trades or technical maintenance courses and experience in the operation and maintenance of boilers, air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical or plumbing systems, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Salary range $37,394 to $57,191; hiring salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Generous benefits package including medical/dental/life/long-term care insurance and retirement plans.
