Commercial Door Hardware Installer

Job Purpose:
Perform service and installation of commercial doors, hardware, access control, and key systems; verifying the system performance and maintaining records.

Duties:
* Prepares for installations by reviewing installation work orders; gathering equipment, supplies, and tools; communicating schedule with customers.

* Plans installations by surveying and evaluating location; identifying installation requirements; laying-out equipment and wiring plan (if necessary).

* Performs installations to manufacturer's standards; adhering to codes, regulations, standards, and customer specific direction.

* Verifies functionality by testing equipment, connections, etc; identifying and correcting problems.

* Maintains records by documenting all service and installations.

* Maintains customer rapport by resolving concerns; answering questions.

* Maintains safe and secure work environment by following safe practices; keeping security information confidential.

* Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

* Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
