Puget Sound Energy (PSE), the largest energy utility in WA, is seeking applicants to fill the position of Communications Technician at our office located in Redmond, WA. Closes 8/8/06. This technician will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of multiple communication industry technologies to include; Analog two-wire and four-wire voice grade services, DSI and DS3 Services, Digital products consisting of CSU/DSU devices, Intelligent DACS equipment, Digital Multiplexers, Digital Microwave Radio Equipment, and it?s associated components. This individual will also perform Fiber Optics Splicing and Terminations. This individual will employ premise-wiring methodologies such as IDF, MDF and DSX for cross-connects.

 

Transmission Tech will work with staff to maintain various operational networks and their associated Management Platforms. Position requires the ability to perform 24X7 support for all supported technologies.

 

Required: Applicants for this IBEW represented position must have at lease two years of experience in a related communications industry sector with a good working knowledge of the technologies listed above in the Job Description. Must obtain an FCC General Radio Telephone Operated License in the first year of employment.

 

Applicant must demonstrate the ability to communicate well with others. Must have a good working knowledge of Safety regulation. Must possess a First Aid Certificate within 30 working days of employment. Applicant must also have a valid Drivers License.

 

Desired: A working knowledge of Analog, Digital, RF and Optical test equipment is desired. Ability to use Microsoft Windows and Office Software as well as Visio is preferred. A working knowledge of TCP/ IP network protocol is desired. A CDL is preferred. The ability to travel for Product Training and work assignments is preferred.

 

Additonal Information: This is an IBEW Represented position and the successful candidate will become a member of the IBEW Local 77.
