We are searching for experienced Construction Equipment Mechanic for our Carmel, IN location.

Our mechanics maintain the rental fleet in a continuous ready status by performing appropriate maintenance and repairs as required. Responsibilities may vary by location depending on the type of equipment, store size, clientele and the size and expertise of the mechanic staff. This position has the ability to work on all types of equipment in a highly skilled manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for the maintenance and major more complex repair of rental equipment, tools and vehicles involving mechanical, hydraulics, diesel and electrical systems.
2. Perform check out and maintenance on rental equipment.
3. Maintain work orders in a timely and complete manner.
4. Prepare new equipment for sale or rent.
5. Maintain a safe work area, obey safety rules and ensure compliance with DOT vehicle maintenance standards and company policies.
6. Attend formal training from vendors.
7. Acquire parts for work in progress.
8. May assist in familiarizing and training customer on equipment.
9. Follow Standard Operating Procedures.
10. Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

High school diploma or G.E.D.
Trade school training preferred.
Vendor sponsored training (JLG, John Deere, Lull, etc.)

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS

Must have 3-5 years experience working as a mechanic.
Must have diesel engine training.
Must have training in hydraulics systems diagnostics.
12/24 volt electrical experience preferred.
Lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, squat, reach, crouch and kneel
Able to effectively communicate.
Work in unprotected weather elements.
