 HVAC ENGINEER(Hands-On Position)

 

 

We are a non-profit corporation operated on the campus of California State University, Northridge in the San Fernando Valley.  We manage two student union buildings totaling approximately 300,000 square feet on nine acres of land.  Our annual operating budget is in excess of $6 million dollars, and we employ over 100 full and part-time employees.

If you are a hands-on HVAC engineer with a minimum 2 years full-time experience, possess Universal CFC and A/C and boiler certification and have energy management experience (Apogee strongly preferred) we want to hear from you.

 

Duties:Responsible for all heating, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration and air conditioning systems (including  boiler systems up to 3 million BTU, 165 ton-300 ton chillers, and AC package units up to 14 tons)Troubleshoots equipment controls, signal wiring, and electrical connections; inspects, maintains, and repairs high voltage air conditioning, refrigeration and heating units; takes meter readings; maintains all chloro-floro carbons (CFC) compliance logs; performs preventative maintenancePerforms electrical and plumbing work related to HVAC.Assists with purchase of materials and installation of parts.Oversees contracted services.Maintains water treatment system, chemical pumps, and filers.Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled construction, maintenance and repair work.Performs other related duties as assigned.
