FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST Level D

Wichita, Kansas is the headquarters for Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., which was purchased by Onex Corp. from Boeing Commercial Airplanes in 2005. In addition to Wichita, the company has operations in Tulsa and McAlester, Oklahoma, and the United Kingdom. Spirit AeroSystems supplies commercial airplane assemblies and components, provides aftermarket support, and designs and fabricates tooling.

The Fire Protection Specialist will be responsible for fire protection, suppression, emergency communications and emergency response for the purpose of safeguarding people, the environment, property and information at the Tulsa facility. Responsible to analyze, interpret, and implement federal, state and local codes and ordinances and provide any acceptable deviations for compliance which apply to Company operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited
?Fire Prevention / Fire Systems tests
?Emergency / Medical / HazMat responses
?Incident Command responsibilities
?Participates in on-going training and provides First Responder Training
?Code analysis, interpretation and enforcement
?Responsible to interface with all federal, state, and local fire protection officials as well as insurance brokers and Company insurance representatives
?Approve and assist in the design of new construction and modifications to the Tulsa facility
?Represent the Company and act as liaison with the Tulsa Airport Authority
?Review and audit fire systems at other Tulsa AeroStructures locations as required
?Oversees prevention operations and assesses risk on a routine basis to ensure safe operations
?Incident Command Certification may be requiredREQUIREMENTS

Skills & Qualifications:
?Basic computer skills
?Excellent oral and written communication skills
?Customer-oriented, innovative, self-starter
?Knowledge of federal, state and local codes
?HazMat Certification required Education

Requirements:
?Prefer a Bachelor?s degree ?7 to 10 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
