Facilities Lead Engineering Coordinator

As a Lead Engineering Coordinator at Micron, you will be responsible for leading a group of Engineering Coordinators in designing and documenting equipment installations, building remodels, site improvements, and renovations to support Micron internal departments. In this position, you will provide architectural design using AutoCAD drawings and other construction documents to reflect the project team’s defined scope; coordinate engineering and design efforts used to fully coordinate construction documents and consider planning future requirements and code compliance; and oversee the Facilities Engineering planning process for a specified area of the plant. You will also be required to maintain good communication within the Design organization, with other engineering disciplines, and with all customers throughout the organization; manage personnel; and design and draft support systems for production equipment installations, facility systems installations, building remodels, and new construction (as directed by Chemical and Mechanical System Engineers). These support systems should comply with manufacturer’s specifications and meet the requirements of UBC, UFC, NEC, NFPA, City, State, and other jurisdictional agencies.

 

Other desirable competencies include coordinating the engineering design schedule and document production; supervising external design consultants; interacting with area coordinators, project coordinators, engineers, and users to provide buildable and useable AutoCAD drawings for project installations; and designing and drafting complete, legible, and accurate working drawings. Additionally, you will be required to make decisions and field questions during construction in order to mitigate unanticipated construction changes related to chemical and mechanical engineering; organize files and drawings for dispersal and record keeping and using hard file and software systems to include project files, the CAD Vault, and CUPS; maintain awareness of safety requirements in order to ensure the protection of Team Member’s life and health; and develop all designs to achieve safe installations.



Qualified candidates will have at least five years of design and drafting experience with a concentration in mechanical piping design. You must have the ability to multi-task; have a proficiency with PCs, Plotters, and Printers; and possess an in-depth knowledge of AutoCAD and Windows. You should have good organizational skills; a good service attitude; and the ability to prioritize and schedule workloads. It is also essential that you have good communication and people skills and that you be a self starter.


 


Education:
An AAS degree in Design and Drafting or equivalent experience is required.
