Qualifications:

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a high-energy individual who will be responsible for providing engineering support and services in a growing R&D community.

The incumbent will be responsible for:
? Assisting Facility Manager with implementing the company?s facilities management activities pertaining (but not limited) to:
? Building design, construction and maintenance.
? Project management from conception to completion
? Develop and implement new systems and processes to achieve reduced costs and improved efficiency
? Evaluation/analysis of various scenarios and developing options to address issues.
? Working with site customers, determine customer needs and document.
? Develop scope of work, costs and schedule for project work.
? Manage internal resources and outside contractors for project execution.
? Generate and maintain project documentation
? Maintain current and accurate site drawings of Architectural, Electrical, Plumbing, Site and HVAC.
? Maintain seating assignment and information database for site members.
? Generate AutoCAD drawings for facility projects including: laboratory/office renovations and new construction.
? Analyze/evaluate various categories of data (budget line items, resource usage, utility usage, etc.)
? Organize and present data in graphical and other forms.
? Develop and present options to address the issue at hand.
? Develop systems and processes to improve efficiency and organization of Facility group responsibilities.
? Develop and maintain databases of critical Facility Group information.
? Provide engineering support for work order and Preventative Maintenance system
? Coordinate intra-site member relocations to insure smooth operation
? Manage personnel relocation process with other groups, HR, IT, etc.
Additional Responsibilities

? Safety ? Performs/manages all work in a safe manner according to OSHA and internal guidelines. Is extremely safety conscious and promotes a culture of safety in all aspects of job performance. Enforces safety guidelines and culture with co-workers and outside contractors. Provides disciplinary action if required for outside contractors.
? Customer Service ? Working with customers, understands and anticipates their needs. Develops and maintains partnerships with individuals and groups. Required to achieve and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Understands and projects the proper attitude for a service organization creating a friendly experience to all customers. Communicates the status of projects and Helpdesk requests to customers. Keeps customers informed on progress of work. Ability to work in a very diverse multicultural environment.
? Hours and Coverage ? Provides 24/7/365 coverage (call in) for all aspects of Facility Group?s responsibilities and emergency situations.
? Day to Day Operation/Expectations ?Individuals must be Team Players and self-starters/internally motivated. Ability to communicate well both in writing and orally. Ability to negotiate with customers, internal resources and outside contractors. Ability to work well with a multi-cultural and diverse group. Must maintain and present a positive attitude at all times. May supervise 1-2 professionals as well as non-exempt technicians.
? Emergency Work ? Addresses emergency situations in a timely manner. Assess? situation, diagnoses issue(s), determines proper corrective action, secures replacement parts/materials, coordinates work, utilizes outside vendors as needed and performs repairs. Determines impact to site for emergency situations and communicates the situation to site membership for the duration of the emergency.
? General Facility Work ? Performs any other facility related tasks as deemed necessary by the Facilities Manger.



COMPETENCIES:

? Bachelor?s degree in Facilities engineering or other engineering discipline.
? 5 ? 8 years of extensive and diverse facility experience.
? Proficient in use of Auto Cad (version 2000 minimum)
? Proven track record of project development and management.
? Working knowledge of Microsoft office (project a plus)
? Experienced in analyzing and presenting data in graphical and other forms
? Ability to draw conclusions and develop/present options from data analysis.
? Ability to develop and give presentations to various levels throughout the organization.
