Facility Maintenace Technician

CITY: Pittsfield STATE: Maine COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

Installs electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors, and other such equipment that is needed.


Tests, maintains, and evaluates equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, amp meters, gauges.


Performs intermediate level maintenance tasks on boilers, burners, compressors, HVAC Systems, elevators, other mechanical and electrical equipment.


Maintains grounds and buildings.


Performs intermediate level facility maintenance associated with a wide variety of aspects related to facility maintenance.


Checks and repairs pumps, fans, valves, motors and other production related equipment.


Adjusting, repairing, trouble shooting and replacing components as they relate to both production and facility equipment.


Performs preventative maintenance on equipment such as boilers & HVAC systems and updates records as appropriate.


Must have good mechanical/troubleshooting capabilities and be able to communicate effectively with people.


Performs others duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Associate of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technician or Industrial Maintenance Technologies with a journeyman electrician's license, fourth-class boiler operator license, or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, certification and experience (5 or more years).


Two or more years experience in equipment maintenance preferably in an electronics-manufacturing environment.


Must have considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved.


Minimum an electrician helper - journeyman preferred.


Must be able to detect defects in equipment and to make proper repairs or adjustments, interpret and work from verbal instruction, pencil sketches, and diagrams.


Must be able to work independently and have strong interpersonal skills to work well in a team environment.


Ability to successfully work with customers to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
