Field Service Engineer - OE and XRF Products

The individual filling this job will be responsible for installations, training, method and application development; telephone and on-site diagnostics and repair services; and preventative maintenance visits to Thermo Electron?s customers. In addition, this person will also be responsible for effectively communicating competitive information and additional sales leads to the appropriate sales representatives. Other miscellaneous duties will be required.

We require a minimum of an associate degree in Chemistry or Electronics and at least 2 years related experience. In addition, this position requires experience troubleshooting, installing, servicing, or operating scientific instruments; experience as a former field service engineer or chemist working on XRF and/or OE instrumentation is a plus. The successful candidate must have proven ability to diagnose and resolve problems on sophisticated electronic, mechanical and optical instrumentation in a commercial scientific laboratory environment, and have the ability to work independently. This position requires extensive customer interaction; therefore strong interpersonal skills are essential. Travel in order to meet customer needs is required; the position will be home-based in the state of Texas or in southern Oklahoma.
