Field Services Representative

CITY: Boston STATE: Massachusetts COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
* Will provide services that will range in scope from performing installations to commissioning, trouble-shooting, and calibration of GE Sensing hardware and software products at GE and customer locations; Products include ultrasonic flowmeters, moisture & oxygen analyzers, pressure controllers/calibrators, and temperature instruments.
* Provide customers with technical direction, and/or project management.
* Provide on-site customer training on GE Sensing products with the use of PowerPoint presentations and hands-on applications.
* Identify problems and take the initiative to eliminate those problems.
* Able to travel extensively and work significant over-time.
* Timely completion of standard service reports, invoicing packages, and other administrative requirements.
* Responsible for driving customer satisfaction from commitment through quality.
* Support the business growth initiatives.
* Make decisions based on business impact and technical data.
* Assure site work is executed in accordance with the cost allocations that are budgeted, including direct cost and labor hour management.
* Monitor site safety during work scope execution.

Qualifications/Requirements:
* Possess a two to four year technical degree in Electronics (AAS, BSEE), Mechanics (AAS, BSME) or Industrial Engineering (AS, BSIE), or equivalent military experience as determined by the Area Service Manager.
* Solid verbal and written communication skills, ability to read and write English, Intermediate math skills.
* Strong Computer skills with familiarity of MS Office products, data analysis, word processing, spreadsheets, and email as well as company specific software like Panaview.
* Strong communication & interpersonal skills (written & verbal)
* Able to read/understand schematics and use oscilloscopes/digital multi-meters.
* Electronics and/or mechanical trouble shooting skills. "Hands-on approach."
* Possess a valid driver's license and passport (or able to obtain a passport).
* Self-starter with minimal supervision requirement; able to work independently; ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines.
* Ability to set and meet aggressive targets.

Desired:
* 2 years in field service or electronics/electro-mechanical field.
* Off shore and international travel experience.
* Able to instruct and teach classes to customers.
* Hydrocarbon processing industry experience.
* Knowledge of GE Sensing products and services (Panametrics, Ruska, Kaye, Druck, TGB, Thermometrics, Nova Sensor & General Eastern).
* Written, analytical, public presentation & training skills.

General:
* Overnight Travel: Approximately 40 to 70 percent. In Front of Customer: 80 percent.
* Multiple positions throughout the US and Western Canada including California, Texas, Georgia, and Illinois, with travel to all states.
* Off shore work mandatory, some international travel possible.
* Able to work in Petrochemical industry safely.
