Fire Systems Installation Technician

Airgas-West, Inc., (Southern California/Southern Nevada/Arizona) is seeking a Fire System Service Technician to be based in Pomona, California.
Primary Position Accountabilities:
To perform field service, inspection, and maintenance of non-water fire suppression and fire alarm systems. To perform physical service, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical system components and functional testing of alarm, control, and signaling systems.
? Travels to customer sites to perform pre-scheduled service, inspection, and maintenance of previously installed fire protection systems.
? Service, inspect, and maintain in accordance with California State Fire Marshal Regulations, NFPA standards, local authorities having jurisdiction, and manufacturers recommended procedures.
? Responds to emergency non-scheduled service calls concerning fire protection systems.Provides good customer service by coordinates with project manager, sales staff, customers and others providing information on costs, repair times, etc.
Desired Minimum Qualifications/Background:
Degree from two-year college or trade school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of technical training and experience with fire protection systems.Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, journals, and governmental regulations.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret CSFM regulations, NFPA standards, manufacturers recommended procedures.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret system installation drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, customers and managers.Basic knowledge of electricity, continuity, resistance, and electronic circuitry.Working knowledge of the following fire suppression agents required: Halon 1301, Carbon Dioxide, Foam, Inergen, FM200.
