Forysth Co Svc Tech Time Warner Cable

Time Warner Cable is currently hiring for Technician I positions in the Forsyth Co area to provide system related service and repairs to Time Warner Customers.

 

Responsibilities:

1.  Perform subscriber service calls, system related repairs, services include but are not limited to cable, high-speed data, and digital telephone, including fiber optic cable and multi-subscriber systems, i.e., apartments, motels, etc.

2.  Perform trouble shooting using equipment such as TDR, OTDR, signal level meter, multi-meter and cable locator.

3.  Calculates signal levels and voltages, perform signal leakage checks, reporting and repairs.

4.  Calculates proper padding and equalization of cable system for unity gain.

5.  May be required to perform installations, downgrades, or disconnections.

6.  Effectively explain use of all services to customer, and ability to solve technical problems with customers.

7.  Ability to recognize opportunities to interest customers in additional services and present information to customers on those services through knowledge of products, programming, and pricing.

8.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

9.  Effective written and verbal communication and problem solving skills. 

10.  The ability to work without direct supervision.

11.  Responsible for security of applicable computer system.

12.  Must maintain and operate company vehicles, tools, materials and equipment in a safe and lawful manner.

 

Qualifications:

1.  Valid NC driver?s license and good driving record.

2.  HS Diploma; 0-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

3.  Basic mechanical aptitude.

4.  Electronic trouble shooting and/or communication background preferred.

5.  Must be willing to live in county that you are servicing due to response time requirements.  Positions currently open in Forsyth Co area.

 

Working Conditions: Ability to work outside, near moving mechanical parts, in high and precarious places using a ladder and climbing utility poles adhering to safety regulations. 

 

Physical Requirements: Frequent Standing, walking, sitting, climbing, kneeling, stooping, bending, crouching, reaching and crawling.  Ability to lift up to 75lbs.

 

Schedule:  Work schedule for position in Forsyth Co is Sunday 7:30am-4:30pm and Monday-Thursday 11am-8pm.  On call rotation every 4-6 weeks.  Standby duty during non-business hours for outages.  Some overtime needed to complete days work.
