IFS-IM-DIRECT SERVICE TECHNICIAN

The Direct Service Technician provides Customers with field service support, including repair, scheduled maintenance, warranty work and various types of customer support agreement. Services Club Car vehicles, competitive vehicles and other small equipment. Supports sales efforts by building relationships with Customers and attempting to provide value added services including training and inspections / audits (with central support as necessary).

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

-Provide maintenance, troubleshooting, warranty and repair services on all Company product lines and select complementary / competitive equipment, both in the field at customer locations and at other facilities.
-Service customer support agreements as dictated
-Schedule workload and perform work based on Customer and company priorities, including scheduled service routes and ad hoc service calls.
-Support Club Car sales teams as appropriate, including participating in sales calls, performing vehicle demonstrations, providing technical support, and so forth.
-Maintain accurate records of all service calls and physical repairs of all vehicles, including proper filing of service repair orders, warranty claims, service agreement documentation, etc.
-Assist in providing technical instruction to direct sales customers, distribution per-sonnel and service/maintenance personnel on the proper operation and maintenance of the Company's product lines.
-Maintain close coordination with Club Car sales teams to ensure all parties are familiar with situations that could impact sales or relationships with both Customers and prospective Customers.
-Plan inventory and tooling needs and maintain resources appropriately within budgetary constraints.
-Manage vehicle and local parts inventory, order / process / ship / receive as necessary, perform inventory counts and audits. Maintain appropriate storage facilities for non-vehicle inventory.
-Work to ensure proper invoicing of Customer work and proper recovery of internal work.
-Communicate in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, with associates and customers. Prepare and present material to Customers including audit / inspection / usage reports, quotes for service, and proposals / recommendations.
-Work to generate new Service and Parts revenue through both existing and prospective Customers
-Coordinate with support network, including Retail Stores / Branches / Augusta / Dealers and other Ingersoll-Rand businesses as necessary, in support of service / parts / administrative processes.
-Foster Customer awareness of Club Car and Ingersoll-Rand products, and route potential leads appropriately.
-Manage efforts to drive financial and performance objectives including Service and Parts revenue, productivity / utilization, effective billing rates, expenses, etc.
-Work independently at the highest levels of professionalism to ensure a premium Customer experience while pursing dramatic growth at target profitability.

EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE STANDARDS

High school diploma or GED. 2 years technical experience. Knowledge of AC/DC circuitry, internal combustion engine, 2 and 4 cycle gasoline engine and gear train operations, maintenance and repair techniques. Knowledge of basic electrical troubleshooting and internal combustion engine operations. Ability to use, maintain and repair testing equipment/hand tools.
