Job Description:

Completes mechanical repair work and resolves specific causes of problems within customer and Ingersoll-Rand requirements. Generates new business through customer contact on service products and competitive machine opportunities

Tests and operates air compressor equipment. Troubleshoots and repairs all types of air compressor and compressor systems. Reads prints and wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment. Assures equipment operates to customer requirements and completes job properly and in a timely manner. Provides information to customers on Completes, sale of service, rentals and parts. Maintains knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment. Maintains knowledge of all Upgrades, Field Retrofits, etc... Uses precision measuring tools for checking clearances; understands and uses electrical test equipment for all equipment. Completes all required reports accurately. Maintains relationships with customers, outside vendors and fellow employees. Other related/similar duties may be assigned. Required to be responsible for on call duties on rotational basis

Job Specification:

Good mechanical & troubleshooting skills
Capability to perform basic compressed air systems installation of IR products; skills to include piping of simplair, copper or black iron
Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems
Three IR service certifications (for Light Industrial Techs: Rotary certification plus outside refrigeration certification).

Minimum high school education and five to seven years of previous experience in the technician field. Strong mechanical background and troubleshooting skills are necessary. Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems. Some air compressor experience is necessary. Excellent customer relations skills.
