Industrial Field Service Technician

Gerhart - an ISO 17025 Company - has evolved into a diverse company providing field service and turnkey installations of industrial weighing equipment, process instrumentation and process automation.  Our work revolves around the testing, repair, and installation of industrial weighing equipment, instrumentation, and automation and control equipment.  Most of our work is performed in the field at our customers? facilities.  The work environment changes daily and ranges from quarries, concrete and chemical plants to food and pharmaceutical facilities.

 

Gerhart has an immediate entry-level opening for a Field Service Technician/Welder Fabricator to be based from our Allentown, PA facility.

 

Applicants must be computer literate.  All candidates must be willing and able to obtain a Commercial Drivers License if they don?t already have one.

Excellent customer relations skills are essential.  Applicants must be able to communicate effectively with engineering staff, production personnel, vendors, and other technicians.

 

Candidates will be expected to:


--Troubleshoot, maintain and calibrate all types of industrial equipment.

 

--Electrically troubleshoot and repair existing systems as well as troubleshoot associated mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic devices.

 

--Mechanically diagnose and repair vehicle-weighing equipment.  (Truck Scales and Railroad Scales)

 

--Understand 120VAC wiring.

 

--Understand DC signal wiring.

 

--Accurately record data and maintain test reports and data sheets.

 

--Prioritize events and switch focus rapidly.

 

--Work overtime during the week and be available for on-call emergency service after normal working hours and on weekends.
