Inspection Tech

Description: SUMMARY: Performs inspections of security and fire alarm systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform all responsibilities in a safe and courteous manner, always thinking of professionalism and customer service. Report all unsafe conditions as they occur.

* Perform home inspections to gain information of security devices in the home or make recommendations if no system is present. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the equipment, its capabilities and various troubleshooting techniques.

* Provide a thorough explanation of the system capabilities and operation to the customer

* Establish a good relationship with the homebuyer for an eventual close and for future referrals

* Establish a good relationship with all inspection companies for continued business

* Accurately complete all inspection paperwork into the Inspection Coordinator on a daily basis

* Turn in every Monday morning a time card along with a copy of all inspections visited from the previous week

* Safely operate assigned company vehicle applying defensive driving techniques at all times. Maintain the vehicle in accordance with manufacturer's specifications

* When on call, ensure availability by telephone or pager contact at all times

* Maintain a clean truck and neat uniform for a professional appearance

* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination or education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to speck effectively to customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
