Installation Technician I

Responsibilities:

 

1.  Perform the tasks required to install basic electronic access control systems such as installing conduit, pulling cable, installing and terminate field devices and job-site clean up. 

2.  Perform the tasks required to install basic mechanical access control systems such as removing/installing various types of door hardware, combinating cores, cutting keys and prepping doors as needed.

3.  Submit complete and accurate paperwork in a timely manner obtaining the proper signatures.  Accurately record mileage figures, changes and codes.  Properly identify warranties and provide accurate descriptions.  All paperwork is to be completed neatly and legibly. 

4.  Assist with service when assigned.

5.  Mentor and assist Tech Trainees.

6.  Safety compliance.

7.  Responsible for maintaining accurate van inventory.

8.  Maintain a clean and safe work environment using the correct tools properly.

9.  Perform work according to the Field Operations Policy and Procedures Manual.

10. Ensure field changes are forwarded to the application engineering department so accurate asbuilt documentation can be maintained.

11. 100% of time is field related.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

 

? Lock hardware or low voltage background preferred.

? Mechanical and or electrical aptitude.

? Knowledge of BEST and BEST's products and services preferred.

? Strong customer service orientation required with the ability to interact in a professional manner with the customer along and satisfy customer needs

? Ability to work beyond standard working hours, as well as, participate in an on-call schedule is required

? A valid state driver?s license, without restrictions, is required for this position

? Ability to work independently on customer site

? High school education or equivalent is required.

? BEST product knowledge helpful.

? Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds

? Must be able to travel overnight
