Installation Technician III

Responsibilities:

 

1.  Provide for the advance level installation of systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Parking Control Equipment, Intercom Systems, Single Door Entry, Central Monitoring Systems and other suppliers that have been identified as BEST approved.  Installation techniques must be to industry-approved standards and codes.

2.  Computer skills to include software installation and configuration of complex systems, and troubleshooting all systems.

3.  Independently manage small and medium sized projects.

4.  Provide point of contact for the installation and troubleshooting for assigned customers at the installation site and via phone.  This includes overseeing project installation as well as level I and II install technicians assigned to the site.

5.  Provide advanced customer training for proper system usage.  Respond to customer technical inquiries for products to ensure customer confidence/satisfaction and provide customer education while at customer location.  Will assist Install Technician II with such issues as necessary.

6.  Submit complete and accurate paperwork in a timely manner obtaining the proper signatures.  Accurately record mileage figures, timesheets, daily job reports, changes and codes.  Properly identify warranties and provide accurate descriptions. 

7.  Mentor and assist lower level techs.

8.  Point for escalation of issues.

9.  Properly maintain company vehicles, equipment, and vehicle inventory as required.

10. Perform work according to the Field Operations Policy and Procedures Manual.

11. Ensure field changes are forwarded to the application engineering department so accurate asbuilt documentation can be maintained.

12. Perform other duties as requested by management in support of SSO goals.

13. Assist with service when assigned.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

 

? 3 Years industry experience

? All tech 1 and tech 2 skills

? People, organizational, and communication skills

? Must be knowledgeable of low voltage, certification preferred

? Knowledge of industry standards BHMA, ASTM, DHI, BOCA, Life Safety Codes and UL.

? Detailed knowledge of BEST and Best?s products and services required

? Skills with personal computers, including electronic E-mail, personal scheduling, Word, Excel, Access

? Network training and SQL required

? Knowledge of Windows 95/98NT/2000/XP required

? A+ and Net+ certification

? Ability to work beyond standard working hours, as well as, participate in an on-call schedule is required

? A valid state driver?s license, without restrictions, is required for this position

? Ability to work independently on customer site

? Ability to meet deadlines and strong time management and organizational skills required

? High school education or equivalent required

? Associates degree is required, with an electronics degree preferred

? 4 - 7 years experience as a Best Electronic Service Technician, 2 or equivalent in industry

? Certified in DHI, A+, NICET Level 3, and NBFAA Level 1

? Minimum of five years electronics industry experience

? Must be able to lift 60 pounds

? Must be able to travel overnight using public transportation as necessary
