Installation Technician Manager

Safelite Group, the largest auto glass repair/replacement and claims management company in the nation, is currently seeking a Technician Manager for the Albany, NY territory.

 

The Technician Manager is responsible for the management and supervision of all technicians, including installation, repair and Mobile Pro technicians.  This individual recruits, staffs, schedules and motivates installation, repair and mobile associates in assigned markets.  Leads and directs all technician activities consistent with established Safelite goals, objectives, policies, and processes, and ensures that Safelite customers receive excellent service.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

?  Performs the scheduling and planning of all activities for assigned technicians.

?  Staffs, trains, motivate, and develops all assigned technicians. Identifies, designs and delivers development opportunities.  Implements strategies to reduce associate turnover. Ongoing and consistent recruiting of installation associates for assigned markets. Recruiting includes all technicians: installation, repair, mobile pro as well as facility based technicians. Invents and implements successful recruiting strategies.

?  Oversees the hiring process. Conducts structured interviews, evaluates candidates, coordinates background and reference checks. Updates HRMS.

?  Provides orientation and training to the new technicians. Reviews Company policies. Associate Handbook, and ?Pro-Cut? installation requirements. Orients new hire to necessary Best Practices and Operating Practices and Standards. Provides on-going training of installation associates. Trains in both Safety and Job related disciplines. Works closely with the ?Technical Quality Programs? staff to identify and provide necessary installation training. Coordinates Safelite Repair Program Training as required.

?  Conducts regular and consistent Performance Management for each Technician under their assignment. Identifies, designs and delivers necessary development opportunities. Implements strategies to reduce associate turnover.

?  Partners with assigned Area Sales Managers to develop business. Works with technicians to establish relationships and generate sales from Commercial accounts in appropriate coverage areas.

?  Communicates with the CSR?s to handle significant issues, and to coordinate effective and consistent communications between technicians and CSR?s. Handles the significant Customer Service issues forwarded on by the assigned customer service representative. Coordinates relationships and communications between the technician and their assigned customer service representative. Ensures effective and regular communication is occurring.

?  Coordinates the routing and scheduling of work for assigned technicians. Serves as back up for technicians during vacation or absences to insure work completion. Consequently, may install automotive glass, perform glass repair and assist technicians in same.

?  Controls and tracks inventory of technicians. Ensures all work orders and remittances are properly handled and accounted. Ensures paperwork complies with Operating Practices. Oversees care and maintenance of all company assets used by technicians and remote distribution points.

 MININUM REQUIREMENTS:?  High School graduate or equivalent?  Incumbent must also be able to deal effectively with the public and maintain a professional image?  Valid Drivers License and acceptable driving record required
