Lead Field Technician

Position Description:
In this position you will oversee the installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Broadband Wireless Site equipment, office servers and networks in assigned market.

Job Responsibilities:
1 Serves as single point of contact for all problems in the Field Operations environment; aggressively pursues root causes for service failures and communicates regularly to the General Manager.
2 Assists with new site turn up and development. Tasks may include resource planning, cost estimates and adherence to set deliverables.
3 Provide field support for new cell construction in the following areas: on site supervision, equipment delivery coordination, path alignment coordination, equipment installation, cell turn up, and cell optimization.
4 Coordinate or perform maintenance of cell sites which involves the emergency generator, batteries/power equipment, the AC units, microwave dishes, antennas, towers, locks and fences, coax cabling, etc.
5 Maintains radio equipment, as well as facilities.
6 Maintaining PSTN and cell site circuits by routine or fault testing and repairing as needed.
7 Assist where needed to identify customer system and equipment problems
8 Determines the cause of equipment failure using various types of complex test equipment
9 Maintains accurate records of equipment assignments,
10 Programming and testing new products.
11 Establishes and maintains strong vendor relationships with local providers
12 Develops or assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and safe technical operation of the department.
13 Monitors expenses, complying with administrative functions and ensuring expense accuracy.
14 Ensures market compliance with accepted maintenance procedures and policies
15 Ensures compliance with written operating plans and procedures, company policies, labor laws, and OSHA, FAA, DOT, and Hazardous Materials.
16 Provide second level support for customer complaints, suggestions, and concerns.
17 Provide technical training to other departments as requested.REQUIREMENTSPosition Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS:

1 4+ years of industry experience in a field tech capacity
2 Familiarity with telecommunications testing methods, procedures and equipment.
3 Prior program management experience in the technology sector and wireless industry.
4 Prior experience successfully managing external customer/partner relationships.
5 Knowledge of the technical aspects of wireless networks technologies and standards.
6 Proven success in implementing cross-functional initiatives requiring support and buy-in from all levels within various organizations.
7 Strong customer service orientation
8 Inventory management experience
9 Ability to deliver results in cross-functional, matrixed environment.
10 Strong working knowledge of MS Office platform and PC?s
11 Resourceful and creative problem solving experience.
12 Proactive and detail-oriented
13 Strong aptitude for creativity.
14 Excellent written and verbal communication skills/presentation skills
15 Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar technical degree
