Help Alcoa be a leader in the Aluminum industry by acting as the "Journeyman level Machinist Specialist" who will layout,fabricate,install,test,forge,weld,assemble,grind, and repair rolls,tools,machinery and equipment, working primarily in shop or designated areas.

Qualifications


Setup, operate,tend and maintain machine equipment such as lathes,drills,grinder, shapers,roll grinders. Plan work, diagnose trouble,dismantle, repair and assemble parts and equipment.


Fabricate tools, machine parts, and dies to required tolerances;perform necessary layout work. Uses blueprints, sketches, and other instructions; keep necessary time and work records; use precision measuring, testing and layout devices. Use various protable welding and burning equipment, power and hand tools and handling equipment; braze, weld, cut and heat. Heat temper and otherwise finish dies, tools, and machine parts. Operate and use cranes, hoists, Industrial and automotive vehicles such as hand, fork, flatbed and pickup trucks in obtaining, moving, positioning, and disposing of materials and equipment.


Maintains a safe work environment.


Can lead and inspire technical employees to achieve outstanding results.


Understands technology and can grasp challenging technical issues. Can operate, tend and maintain air compressors. Prepare and pour bearings, etch rolls, polish and grind-rolls; grind pouring station and slitter shafts and pistons. Shape, forge,bend and forge weld to specifications.


Pays attention to detail. Approaches work in a meticulous and thorough manner.
