Maintenance Engineer (Heavy Equipment)

MultiServ, A Division of Harsco Corporation, the world leader in metal reclamation, is seeking a qualified person for the following position:

 

Maintenance Engineer - Heavy, Industrial Off-Road Equipment

 

This position will be based at our Eastern Regional Office located in Cranberry Township, PA.

 

Summary

This position will provide maintenance and technical support to the operations sites, champion and lead the Company?s predictive and preventive maintenance initiatives, and will evaluate the condition, repair and usage of heavy industrial mobile equipment.

 

Responsibilities and DutiesInspect every piece of mobile equipment for proper conditions and operabilityAudit all maintenance practices and Preventive Maintenance service records to insure compliance with the Maintenance Improvement Initiative guidelinesInterfaces with equipment vendors and parts suppliers to improve service quality and parts availabilityAssist in the investigation of major equipment component failures and conducts root cause analyses Inspect new and used equipment prior to MultiServ purchasesConduct regular visits to all operating sites and audit maintenance shop working conditions and procedures Assist in the preparation of annual capital and maintenance cost budgetProvide technical support to maintenance foremen with major projectsOther Duties may be assigned

Education/experienceAssociates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school / or at least 5 years of related heavy off-road equipment maintenance experience Experience as a shop maintenance supervisor or heavy equipment mechanic with advanced welding, cutting, machining and mechanical skillsExperience with maintenance work order systems and advanced maintenance planning techniquesComputer Skills; JDEdwards, Word, Excel experienceExperience with oil analysis interpretation and tribologyMust be willing to travel up to 50%

 

The successful candidate must be able to lead and mentor maintenance supervisors and mechanics, possess good written and verbal communication with concise technical terms, have an excellent mechanical aptitude and understanding of proper equipment operation.  The candidate will be resourceful and creative as to the development of new maintenance strategies.
