Job DescriptionResponsible for productivity, quality of work, departmental safety, controlling costs and reducing waste in Maintenance, Grounds and other assigned departments. Responsible for installation, inspection, maintenance of equipment of the physical plant. Implements and directs departmental policy and procedures. Oversees daily operations of the projects assigned to the department. Develops preliminary budgets and objectives. Ensures that employees follow company and customers rules and guidelines. Ensures department meets government and regulatory agency guidelines. May be required to work in confined areas, on ladders, scaffolding, equipment, etc.


Essential functions of maintenance group manager:

1. Supervises, coordinates and integrates the work actions of all assigned personnel.
2. Assist /manager in implementing work practices, rules, safety etc. ensures compliance with and updates departmental policies and procedures.
3. Executes short range planning in support of the company's, maintenance departments and customer's goals and objectives.
4. Ensures Departmental/individual compliance with National, State, local building/ mechanical codes; safety codes, OSHA regulations; fire codes; company's and customer's policies, procedures, and standards.
5. Assist supervisor in maintaining/improving productivity, quantity control and quality of work, promotes safety, improves housekeeping, controls costs, and reduces waste.
6. Supervise the installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of plant equipment appliances, utilities and the physical plant.
7. Oversees the work on projects assigned to the department to ensure timely completion of projects and that the company's and customer's quality standards are met.
8. Assist supervisor in preparing a draft annual budget for the department; assist in executing the approved budget.
9. Assists in the operation of the Preventative Maintenance Program.
10. Assist in developing and executing an integrated, ongoing orientation and training program.
11. Assist in the development of long range planning in support of the company's customer's and maintenance department's goals and objectives.
12. Performs other assigned duties as directed.
13. Exhibits good customer relations with company staff, customer's staff, visitors, vendors, and co-workers; shows courtesy, compassion, and respect for all; conforms to the company's, customer's, and the department's policy and procedures. Performs with the highest regard to productivity, quality, harmony, and safety.
14. Contributes to the Departmental efficiency and effectiveness by offering suggestions and specific problem solving solutions. Assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of actions as required. Assists other mechanics in solving problems as requested. Follows recommendations for quality improvement.

Job Qualifications? Ideal candidate will have previous lead or supervisory experience or training to be equivalent to 2-3 years of lead and or supervisory experience. Preferably in a food manufacturing environment.

? 2-3 years hands on maintenance experience with a good work record.

? Proven ability to work well with others in a demanding environment.

? Must be self ? motivated with a basic understanding of and the ability to apply basic management skills in the shop and production environment
