Maintenance Mechanic

 

ITW Hi-Cone a Division of Illinois Tool Works has three Maintenance mechanic positions available in our Zebulon Location.   Candidate we seek will be responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

 

Will be responsible for layout, installing and maintaining a wide variety of complex electrical or electronic controlled systems for production machinery, auxiliary equipment and building facilities.

 

Will work from wiring diagrams and schematic drawings and use various types of electrical measuring instruments.  Must understand  Ohms law, wattage formulas, fundamentals of electricity, electronics and operations of electrical equipment.

 

Considerable judgment is required and must be exercised as assignments you will be involved with complex problem solving, installation of equipment, wiring panels and circuits,, able to work on 220 and 440 volt powered production equipment such as extruders and automatic punch presses, laminators and fanfold equipment. 



You will be required to ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production equipment; able to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, engineering specifications; and troubleshooting malfunctions.

Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.  Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.

Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.  Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.

Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Skills/Qualifications:

Equipment Maintenance, Technical Understanding, Troubleshooting ability, strong adherence to safety rules and regulations, able to use hand/Power Tools, Strong attention to Detail, Flexibility and able to work independently.
