Maintenance Planner

 

Position Purpose:

 

The purpose of this position is to provide effective and accurate work order plans in terms of craft labor, contract labor and materials to maximize craft effectiveness associated with planned maintenance activity.

 

Major Contributing Activities:

 

Accountable for:

? Demonstrating a diligent commitment to EH&S considerations by effectively evaluating potential safety and environmental risks associated with individual job plan development and ensuring appropriate measures are taken to mitigate any associated risks.

 

Responsible for:

? Reviewing work requests with Operations for clarification of problem and expected result.

? Developing accurate and timely job plans including craft sequence logic, craft labor estimates and material requirements.

? Identifying and specifying potential PPE and environmental containment devices to minimize EH&S associated risks.

? Providing appropriate references to engineering standards and specifications to ensure like-in-kind repair and replacement takes advantage of currently accepted practices and techniques.

? Providing appropriate OEM reference information to facilitate the repair of equipment as deemed necessary.

? Identifying opportunities for the use of outside contractors to minimize the overall cost of the job plan.

? Communicating the need for outside contractors with the maintenance manager.

? Monitoring on-order material status as related to planned and approved work orders and providing relevant feedback to the maintenance supervisors & operations.

? Developing and updating model work orders to accommodate scope changes or improved productivity.

? Developing and updating PM work orders to accommodate scope changes or improved productivity.

? Preparing and recording equipment information including manufacturer, physical description, cost and vendor to obtain a catalog ID number from MRO.

? Utilizing feedback from either the Maintenance supervisors or Maintenance manager concerning significant deviations of craft labor estimate or material requirements during work execution.

 



Capabilities, Skills and Educational Requirements:

 

Educational Requirements:

?  High School Diploma or GED.

 

Experience Requirements:

?  10 years craft experience or

?  5 years craft experience and 1-3 years supervisor experience.

 

Additional Requirements:

■  Demonstrated ability to think logically and organize work to accommodate changing priorities

■  Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems with minimal direction and support.

■  Familiarity with engineering standards and specifications.

■  Familiarity with multiple craft practices including mechanical, instrument, analyzer, electrical, welding, insulation and general labor.
