Maintenance Tech I/II/III

Holds a general responsibility for lower level production equipment mechanical operation, preventive maintenance tasks, work orders, spare part ordering, electrical systems, etc. 50% of the incumbent?s time will include performing mid level preventive maintenance tasks and performing maintenance work orders issued for production processes or equipment.?? Responsible for effective/efficient operation of the equipment along with high-level repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of the equipment and systems. The incumbent must continually maintain the maintenance of equipment and documentation of that maintenance within guidelines set forth by Maintenance Management/Group Leader to comply with cGMPs.

ACCOUNTABILITY:
* Provides maintenance support on technically sophisticated process machinery such as filling, capping, depyrogenation, washing, sterilization, labeling, automated inspection, and conveyor equipment, among others, worth over $100M.
* Proper change control and documentation procedures. All procedures must be complied with to satisfy regulatory authorities during local, state, federal, or foreign agency audit.
* In some cases the incumbent may impact the acceptability of the finished product and the ability to produce pharmaceutical solutions or lyophilized product.
* Accountable for the proper performance, review, and documentation of area SOPs and basic equipment and facility PMs as assigned by Maintenance Management/Group leader.
* Accountable for knowledge of and adhering to all company guidelines, policies, and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and SOPs.
* Adhering to safety codes and guidelines for ones self and others throughout the plant.? This requires adhering to safety procedures and to avoid situations, which could lead to chemical and/or steam burns, reactions to toxic fumes and moving equipment, which could result in injury.
* Shall maintain current training on all related cGMP SOPs as issued by Maintenance Management and/or GSPI training department.
* Shall maintain a set of personal tools at his own cost as specified in the tool list supplied by the Maintenance Management. The company will provide specialized tools.

Responsibilities:
* Has a general responsibility for performance of maintenance work orders and high-level preventive maintenance tasks. This may involve production equipment mechanical operation, controls, electrical and mechanical installation, equipment optimization, effective/efficient equipment operation, electrical/electronic systems, and preventive maintenance.
* Completes and understands training requirements as identified by the Maintenance Manager/Group leader and/or the GSPI training department. This includes all SOPs referring to the production, maintenance documentation procedures, and safety, cGMPs and equipment operational parameter SOPs.
* Responsible for understanding and review of the proper use of maintenance documentation, which is required under cGMPs. Examples include: Maintenance Work Order system, the CSCR system, Preventive Maintenance Documentation forms, SOP documentation, and the use of Equipment Log Books.
* May be assignment to coordinate projects with vendors and suppliers up to $1000 in value.? These projects involve close coordination and supervision with the responsible Maintenance Group Leader.
* Completing assignments in a timely manner from detailed work orders or PM sheets.
* Write purchase requisitions for equipment spare part requirements.
* Complete emergency repairs, with supervision, when necessary to offset downtime and production delays.
* Requires a basic understanding of pharmaceutical processes. Works with initiative, however, requires supervision and guidance.
* Is available for emergency callbacks as required and is flexible toward work hours including holidays or plant shutdown periods.

?Requirements:
* Good understanding of all Maintenance Technician II skills.
* High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of vocational courses in areas such as welding, mechanics, control systems, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, or Freeze drying is desirable.
* Technical schooling is preferred and/or one to three (1-2) years experience as a technician or a mechanic involved with production equipment, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
*Experience in repair, installation, maintenance and modifications to equipment such as fillers, washers, autoclaves, capers, automatic inspection machines, labelers, etc.
* Good oral and written English communication skills are required.
* Ability to use maintenance tools, precision instruments and testing equipment safely and accurately.
* May be required to operate heavy equipment such as a forklift.
* Basic understanding of single and three phase power troubleshooting and maintenance techniques.
* Technician must not have any known allergies or reactions to antibiotics. Exposure to high temperatures, dirty working conditions and high elevation when repairing some equipment. Occasionally will be required to work outside.
* Moderate to heavy physical effort consisting of bending, lifting, climbing on safety ladders, moving and installing heavy equipment. Disassembly of equipment and some maintenance in awkward places and positions required.
