Maintenance Technician-Electrician at Mystic 8/9, Charlestown, MA

 

  Responsible for performing safe and efficient electrical maintenance activities on a 1600 MW combined cycle electrical generating plant located in Charlestown MA. Facility consist of four Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) 501G Gas Turbines, four

Deltak Heat Reheat Recovery Steam Generators with catalytic reduction and supplemental duct firing systems, and two MHI Steam Turbines with air cooled condensing systems.

  Technician will perform assigned electrical maintenance activities as well as support mechanical, instrumentation and controls (I&C) and operations. Electrician will be responsible to ensure that all electrical preventative maintenance tasks are performed utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System, have a working knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot power systems including high voltage equipment (115 kV & 345 KV), and assist in the planning of overhauls.

Additional functions may include overseeing external vendors or contractors when on the premises, assist in development of budgets for the department and training plans for personnel, safely handling hazardous materials, and directly responding to abnormal events or plant emergencies.

 

  Position requires at least ten years of experience with steam and electric power plant maintenance activities. At least a high school degree and a Journeyman license. It is expected to be available for call ins when needed, be able to work independently and oversee small work groups. Desirables are a Massachusetts Second Class Fireman License and flexibility for extended hours.
