Manager Cable Plant

You will be responsible for managing the institution's voice and data cabling infrastructure, voice system engineering and supervising the Telecommunications Technicians. Facilities management includes interfacing with architects, engineering, facilities, various departments and contractors; maintaining accurate electronic and paper records of the cabling systems; performing site surveys for renovations and new construction; and providing backup facilities for essential services in the event of a disaster.

Education/Special Skills Required: Minimum of ten years work related experience with cable plant operation & design; experience with PB telephone systems or central office systems; in depth knowledge of twisted pair and fiber optic cabling; must understand the major differences in PBX system features and voice messaging systems; must be familiar with network services available from the local exchange carrier and long distance companies; in depth knowledge of CAD software; experience with various databases. RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification is required. A bachelor's degree is also required. Must have excellent communications skills-both verbal and written; analytical ability; be PC literate and familiar with the applications used to administer the various systems.
