Manager Customer Support and Repairs

 

 

This position will manage my client?s North American customer support and repair functions for all original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and end user customers. The position will direct and manage both repair center and field based service personnel who perform installation services, maintenance and repairs for both electric motors and drives. The position is also responsible for managing customer service operations and processes including warranty services, repair quotations and authorization, spare part order placement, return authorization, service scheduling and dispatch.  In addition, the position is responsible for developing and implementing new service contract and preventive maintenance plans to grow the Company?s service and repair revenues.  Effective management of repair parts inventories is a critical additional responsibility.

 

Experience required:

 

BA/BS preferred. Two years of technical training required.

 

Minimum of 2-4 years management experience with 5 or more years in technical support roles with increasingly responsible levels.

 

Experience in automation control, machine building or electric motors and drives highly desirable.

 

Skills required:

 Skilled in team leadership to foster employee development, staff management and customer complaint resolution. Skilled at establishing efficient work processes and documentation procedures to achieve effective time utilization and quality of work, to optimize customer service efficiency. Decisive, action oriented individual who takes ownership of open issues resulting in prompt resolution and closure. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to clearly and concisely articulate to a wide variety and levels of customers and Company employees. Analytical and problem solving skills to address customer needs and issues.

 

Other:

 

The position is based in the Company?s US Headquarters located in the Hartford, CT area but also manages a satellite function in the Company?s Chicago office. The position requires 10-20 percent travel.
