Nortel needs experienced commissioners / testers / network integrators with Nortel MSC switch experience and R4 experience for Nortel GSM wireless products. These are contract positions with Nortel in locations throughout the US. Successful candidates must have prior experience with Nortel wireline / wireless / switching products.

Job Functions:

 

Purpose:

?  Provide support to transform a group of network elements into a validated and integrated network that delivers the intended functionality and is ready to carry traffic.

 

Primary Responsibilities of Position:

? Alarm monitoring

? Ability to troubleshoot alarms and translations

? Ability to make non-traffic affecting changes in the database

? Understands interconnectivity of all network elements

? Ability to activate CCS7, PSTN, IMT BSC, Voicemail trunks

? Ability to perform Call Processing/Services and Feature Testing

? Ability to configure the SDM

? Ability to make traffic affecting changes in the database with minimal or no support

? Ability to troubleshoot other network elements

 

Minimum Skills/Training:

? Possesses >5 years of experience related directly to this activity

? Performs all associated tasks and assignments which meets highest performance standards

? Requires no supervision and based on position expertise may be required to provide mentoring to lower skill levels

? Continually seeks training opportunities to develop required skills

? Possesses a high degree of experience with Nortel equipment

? Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

? Expert level knowledge and experience with OAM platform

? Possesses a high level of interface skills for dealing with the customer
