PMEL Metrologist / Calibration Technician

EML, LLC is looking for an experienced calibration technician to work on-site in our mobile lab and in our Franklin, Tennessee calibration and repair laboratory.

 

PMEL Metrologist / Calibration Technician Position Summary

?  Test, calibrate, and repair electronic measuring and test equipment (MTE) to established national standards. Some mechanical calibration and repair may be required.

?  Plan and perform testing of MTE utilizing ATE, procedures, schematics, technical manuals, and other specifications in compliance with requirements.

?  Set up standards and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate MTE.

?  Align, repair, replace, and balance component parts and circuitry.

?  Assist in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of MTE.

?  Provide field maintenance on MTE when required.

?  May travel up to 80% of the time.


Qualified candidates must meet the following requirements:

-  US citizen or US permanent resident

-  Formal military PMEL/TMDE training preferred

-  Minimum of 4-6 years calibration experience required

-  Familiarity with ISO 9001:2000 & ISO/IEC 17025 requirements

-  Electrical / RF microwave experience required

-  Physical / dimensional experience a plus

-  Basic electronic and computer skills

-  Capable of heavy lifting (50 to 80 lbs)

-  Valid driver?s license and clean driving record (No moving violation in the past 3 years)

-  Ability to work independently

 

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Employment contingent upon successful reference checks, pre-employment drug screen, 10 year criminal background investigation, and DOT physical.
