PRODUCT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

We are currently recruiting for a Product Support Technician with the following skills: Responsible for reducing on site service by providing comprehensive technical phone support to our US Customer Base and Distributors. Reduce parts usage/shipping costs by correctly identifying root cause of customer problem and sending the correct parts to the customer.  Also reduce parts related costs by direct involvement with parts quality assurance. Reducing the Field Service Engineers on site time by providing concise recommendations for a quick response of  issue. Assisting Product Support Engineers in driving overall performance of specific product line. Assist in repair of local electro/mechanical equipment

RESPONSIBILITIES ARE AS FOLLOWS:Maximize the equipment uptime and customer satisfaction by providing telephone support to US customers and employees in regards to installing, repairing, configuring and updating hardware and/or software.Support hardware and software products, as requested, at trade shows and other sales oriented conferences where the product will be presented. Stay current, in regards to latest versions and feature sets of necessary operating systems and software Communicate and interact with customers, sales and other service counterparts in a positive, courteous and professional  manner and always present a professional image to the customers.Creation of documentation, training Field Service Engineer's or customers, occasional on-site installation and/or service.Repair and verify condition of appropriate returned parts and test equipment.  Ensure that these items are repaired and tested properly before being restocked for usage. Ability to provide clear, well organized remote direction/instruction to end users, read electrical diagrams, assist other service personnelExcellent writing and  verbal communication skills. Complete all job- related administrative aspects (call reports, part returns, time/expense reporting, etc) on time and error free.Ability and willingness for limited travel. Planning and organizational skills necessary. Work Standards ( concern for quality)

Physical Requirements:  Ability to lift 75 pounds, Pull, lift and reach equipment parts and boxes.

Educational Requirements:  Associates Degree Electrical Engineer or equivalent technical training.

Job Related formal training:  Classroom plus On the Job Training 3-6 months.

Job Related work experience:  3+ years providing hardware support.
