Opportunity at the Reagan Test Site (RTS) located in the exotic and tropical island of Kwajalein in the Republic of Marshall Islands. Reagan Test Site (RTS) complex includes a variety of radar, telemetry, and other instrumentation and communication systems.

This location is a beautiful, tropical setting in the central Pacific that offers year-round water sports and many other recreational activities. Kwajalein is similar to most American communities with schools, hospital, stores and all public works. Crime is virtually non-existent and so is traffic, private automobiles are not authorized and bicycles are the primary mode of transportation.

Plumber/Pipefitter III (Full Time/ Unaccompanied)


Responsibilities: Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on potable water, reclaimed water, storm drains, and sewer mains, services and laterals under limited supervision. Ability to install new piping and make modifications to existing systems utilizing blueprints, technical manuals, manufacturer?s manuals, and Company historical data in accordance with best commercial practices, American Water Works (AWWA) standards, and the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC). Must be self motivated and able to work independently, and be able to lead others as needed. Must keep supervisor apprised of work situations and problems encountered. Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in the English language. Must demonstrate basic mathematical skills. Ability to use logic in troubleshooting problems. Must be able to successfully plan and meet deadlines, as well as recognize and initiate process enhancing projects. Assemble and install or repair valves, fittings, and piping composed of cast iron, steel, brass, PVC, vitrified clay, concrete, and FRP in sizes between ? inch and 16 inches under limited supervision. Cut and thread pipe using pipe cutters, cutting torch, threading machine, power tools or hand tools. Study building and utility plans and drawings to determine sequence of installation. Determine parts, supplies, and material requirements for job accomplishment and inventory/order supplies to replenish bench stocks. Must rigorously adhere to and accomplish the Preventive Maintenance Plan. May be asked to lead and teach co-workers. Learn distribution and collection systems pipe, valve, and manhole locations in order to quickly respond to emergencies. Must be able to obtain an ABC Class 1 Water Distribution License within 24 months of hire date. Must be a team player able to effectively work with other personnel, and to assist other trades and crafts personnel in their daily operations. Personal integrity, honesty, consistency, reliability and self-motivation is a must. Must adhere to Company safety policies, procedures and programs. Must be alble to lift up to 100 pounds. Vision correctable to 12/40. Perform other duties as required.


Requirements : High School Diploma or equivalent plus minimum of 2 (two) years plumbing/pipefitting experience. Must have a valid driver?s license. Desire 5 (five) years experience working with assorted utility piping systems. Prefer completion of an apprentice training program and/or journeyman / master licensure; trade school degree, comparable military training, or related specialty courses. Experience with operation backhoes, loaders and dump trucks a plus
