Position Overview: 

 

Provides assistance in the assembly, installation, maintenance, remodeling, repair and servicing of plumbing and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.

 

? Assists in providing a description of diagnosed problems to the customer in terms that can be understood. Obtains agreement for services and/or installation before performing work.

? Assists in the installation, repair and maintenance of water, gas and sewer lines and systems. Clears clogged lines and repairs leaks.

? Assists in the repair and installation of plumbing pipes, traps, washbowls, fittings, drains, sprinklers, backflow preventers, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, disposals, water softeners and faucets

? Pulls stock from the warehouse for plumbing orders.

? Maintains and fuels vehicle and stocks the service truck with adequate parts.

? Transports materials and tools to the job site and provides proper accounting of tools.

? May dig and backfill trenches for plumbing jobs.

? Completes all required documentation on services and collects, records and delivers fees to the office.

? Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.

Observes all safety and Company rules and regulations in the performance of duties.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

? High School Diploma or GED

? Understand plumbing math, tools, codes and drawings.

? Understand drains and basic plumbing as well as sewers systems and septic tanks

? Be able to make a basic drain and/or plumbing diagnosis

? Diagnose and solve main and secondary line blockages

? Have a fundamental knowledge of types of pipes and fittings, including plastic, copper, cast-iron and carbon steel pipes

? Know how to operate different machines used in drain cleaning

? Understand how to remove and reset toilets, valves and flanges
